The ongoing mild to moderate heatwave is likely to continue in the Khulna division and the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Gopalgonj and Patuakhali, a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) release said on Sunday.

Rain or thundershowers with intense lightning, accompanied by temporary gusty wind is also likely to occur at one or two places over the Mymensingh and the Sylhet divisions said in a weather bulletin issued for the next 24 hours commencing at 9:00am.

The Weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

However, the day temperature may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius and the night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

The country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 39.5 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga and on Sunday the minimum temperature was 22.3 degrees Celsius at Srimangal.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00am was recorded at 7 millimetres (mm) at Sylhet.

The sun will set at 6:24 pm on Sunday and will rise at 5:29am tomorrow (Monday) in the capital.
