The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) has suspended the auditing licence of eight chartered accountants, for three to five years, as disciplinary action for various irregularities including professional misconduct.
“The Council-ICAB has taken disciplinary actions against some of its Members on 20 April 2022 based on the recommendations of the Investigation & Disciplinary Committee (IDC),” said a Report on Disciplinary Actions on its website on Wednesday.
The institute also imposed fines on them ranging from Tk 3 lakh to Tk 5 lakh.
The eight mentioned in the report were A Matin & Company partners AK Abdul Matin, Netai Chand Talukder, and Md Liaquat Ali Khan; Anisur Rahman & Company's proprietor Md Anisur Rahman, Mohammad Ata Karim & Company's partner ASM Ataul Karim, Hafiz Ahmed & Company's proprietor Md Hafiz Ahmed, MN Islam & Company's proprietor Nazrul Islam, Mostafa Kamal & Company's proprietor AH Mostafa Kamal.
