Banks to remain open on Saturday for facilitating Hajj

Bangladesh Bank has instructed the banks to keep an adequate number of branches and sub-branches open on Saturday for smooth Hajj travel management.

The central bank issued the order in a notice on Thursday at the request of the religious affairs ministry.

This year, 57,585 pilgrims will be able to make the Hajj pilgrimage, including 4,000 under the government management and 53,585 by the private management.

Two packages were officially announced under the government management. Package-1 will cost Tk 5,27,340 and Package-2 Tk 4,62,000. And the cost of a package under private management has been estimated at Tk 4,56,630. Later, additional Tk 59,000 increased for both the government and private managements due to rising travel costs.
