Hasan Shaheed appointed chairman of People’s Leasing

The board of directors of People’s Leasing and Finance Services Limited has appointed its chairman.

Retired Senior District and Sessions Judge Hasan Shaheed Ferdous has been appointed as the chairman of the company, according to an official disclosure on Monday through the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). Barrister Kamal Ul Alam, also a senior Supreme Court lawyer, recently resigned from the post of chairman of the Board of Directors of People’s Leasing.

Earlier on July 2021, People’s Leasing and Financial got a new Board of Directors, which will operate the organization from now on instead of the provisional liquidator, as per the High Court.

Since the company’s trading stopped in 2019, it has increased 64 times. The DSE has announced that the trading of the company’s shares will be stopped till June 21. The board of directors of the Dhaka Stock Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange took the decision to suspend trading from September 29 to October 20.
