To increase the exposure of the country’s tourism and heritage spots, Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) has arranged an international expo in Dhaka set to kick off on December 1.
Titled International Tourism Expo, the event will take place at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) from December 1 to 3, ATAB president SN Manjur Morshed announced at a press conference held at a hotel in Dhaka on Tuesday.
“Through the expo, the country’s tourism and hospitality sector will be publicised, cultural events, heritage and local food will be displayed to the international tourist, products branding will be facilitated, and a good relationship will be stabilised between Bangladesh and foreign countries,” Manjur Morshed stated.
The upcoming expo will be supported by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, he added.
Local and international tourism operators, airline operators, and travel agencies will offer attractive discounts. Foreign embassies will provide information support to ease the way for Bangladeshi outbound tourists.
Meanwhile, an awareness campaign on the country’s tourism sector, multiple seminars, round table talks, and business-to-business service sessions will also be held at the expo.
Officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI), Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation (BPC), Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB), SME Foundation, and the Department of Archeology were present at the press conference.
Additionally, officials from Emirates, Qatar Airways, Saudia Airlines, Air Arabia, US-Bangla, Novoair and other international airlines were present there.
