In remembrance of Ahl al-Bayt Rasool, the annual 10-day long Shahadat-e-Karbala mahfil will start from July 31 in Chattogram.

The 37th mahfil will continue till August 9 at the Jamiatul Falah Jame Masjid plaza in the port city.

Sheikh Ahmed Naina, the internationally renowned national Qari of Egypt, will recite from the Holy Quran at the mahfil. Globally renowned Islamic scholars will discuss the importance of Ahl al-Bayt Rasool at the event.

The information was disclosed at a press conference organised by the Shahadat-e-Karbala Mahfil Management Council at a restaurant in Chattogram city on Tuesday.

In the press conference, the council chairman and prominent industrialist Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman, said that love for people, not revenge, is the characteristic of the Prophet’s family. They have left that example of love by sacrificing life in the Karbala battle.

It was informed in the press conference that Khatib-e-Bangal Maulana Muhammad Jalal Uddin Alkaderi had been holding the Shahadat-e-Karbala mahfil for 10 days in commemoration of Hijri New Year, Mahe Murharam and Ahl al-Bayt Rasool since the establishment of Jamiatul Falah Complex in 1986. This year also, as usual, the
mahfil is going to be organised.

The chairman of PHP Family, Mizanur Rahman, who was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2020 for his vast contribution in social activism, said that by organising the mahfil, the Ahl al-Bayt Rasool loving devoted Muslims show their respect and love for the Messenger of Allah. Therefore, it is very important to organise the mahfil to keep the martyrdom of the Ahl al-Bayt Rasool alive among the Muslims and everyone motivated and energised towards religion and truth.
“Participation in this mahfil is a religious duty,” he said.

This year’s Shahadat-e-Karbala mahfil will be attended by nationally as well as internationally renowned Islamic thinkers, academics, researchers, politicians, businessmen, ministers, government officials as guests and speakers.

Hazrat Abdul Qader Jilani (RA) of Baghdad Sharif’s awlad Ash-Shaikh As-Syed Allama Afifuddin Al Jilani Al Bogdadi of Iraq,  Sajjadanshin Quaid Millat Hazrat Shah Sufi Syed Mahmud Ashraf Ashraf Al Jilani of Kaswasa Darbar Sharif, India, Fakhrul Mashaikh Hazratul Allama Syed Muhammad Ashraf Ashrafi Al Jilani, Tajul Ulama Hazrat Maulana Syed Muhammad Noorani Mia Hashemi, Allama Muhammad Ihsan Iqbal Qaderi, Sri Lanka, and Khatib La-Sani Maulan Akbar Ihsani, among others, will be present at the event.
