The High Court on Wednesday issued a rule asking why a delay in removing Dhaka Wasa Managing Director
Taqsem A Khan should not be considered illegal.
The court also asked why it should not order to take necessary steps for the removal of the Wasa MD.
The High Court bench of Justice Md Mozibur Rahman Miah and Justice Kazi Md Ejarul Haque Akondo passed the order on Wednesday after hearing a writ petition filed in this regard.
The legality of paying the WASA MD Tk 0.625 million as his gross salary was also questioned. The court also sought a report on the total gross salary, performance bonus, TADA, and all other benefits in terms of cash and kinds paid to the WASA MD in the last 13 years within 60 days.
The court wanted to know why the Wasa MD should not be ordered to return the extra money taken as salary and allowances.
On July 31, architect Mobasher Hossain filed the writ petition on behalf of Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) challenging the inaction of the Wasa Board of Directors to remove Taqsem A Khan from the post of MD.
