GP, Teletalk launch 4 new unlimited data packages

Private telecom operator Grameenphone and state-owned Teletalk have launched four new data packages for an unlimited span of time.

Under the new initiatives, the operators will offer data of 6GB, 15GB, 26GB and 40GB without time limits, said a press release issued by the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) on Sunday.

The Grameenphone customers will have to pay Tk 1,199 for 40GB and Tk 549 for 15GB internet while the customers of Teletalk Bangladesh Limited will pay Tk 127 for 6GB internet and Tk 309 for 26GB.

Other mobile phone operators will also introduce new data packages without any time limits in phases, the release said.

Earlier on April 28, being instructed by the BTRC, three telecom operators — Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink — launched separate data packages while Teletalk offered those in March.

With the launching, mobile internet users were said to enjoy "volume-based data packages valid up to one year" and “unlimited data volume packages for a month”.

However, carry-forward issues were said to be not applicable in the packages then.
