FBCCI delegation reaches India

A high-level business delegation led by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) reached India on Monday as the entourage of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for enhancing the bilateral trade relationship between the two countries.

A total of 62 members of the delegation, led by FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this morning, a press release said.

The apex trade body’s Vice-President Md Amin Helaly will be serving as acting president of the FBCCI in absence of the chief.

On Tuesday afternoon, the business team will participate in a meeting titled “New Horizons of India- Bangladesh Economic Relations” with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

On Wednesday morning, another meeting will be held between the FBCCI and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

In the evening on the same day, the FBCCI is scheduled to participate in the India-Bangladesh Business Forum organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM).

The business delegation includes former FBCCI presidents Md Shafiul Islam (Mohiuddin), Abdul Matlub Ahmad, FBCCI Senior Vice-President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, Vice-President MA Razzak Khan Raj, former director Selima Ahmad, Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, FBCCI directors Khan Ahmed Shuvo, Mahbubul Alam, Md Saiful Islam, Md Jamal Uddin, Dilip Kumar Agarwala, Mohammad Anwar Sadat Sarker, MGR Nasir Majumder, Bijay Kumar Kejriwal, Md Iqbal Shahriar, Md Ali Hossain Shishir, Amzad Hussain, Tabarakul Tosaddek Hossain Khan (Tito), Kazi Ertaza Hassan, Shomi Kaiser, Syed Sadat Almas Kabir, Joshoda Jibon Deb Nath, Priti Chakraborty, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Patwari, Md Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury, Naaz Farhana Ahmed, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan, BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem, BUILD Chairperson Nihad Kabir, FBCCI former director Prabir Kumar Saha and Khandaker Mashiuzzaman (Romel).
