Malaysia and Indonesia on Tuesday agreed to cooperate with Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) to develop automobile sector in the country.
They expressed the assurance of cooperation at a zoom meeting between BSEC Chairman Md Shahidul Haque Bhuiyan and Chairman of Overseas Investment Team for Asia Region of West Java Province Chamber of Commerce Sara Quek Yean Nee at NDC office.
The Overseas Investment Team for Asia Region of West Java Province Chamber of Commerce also expressed hope to provide technical support and raw material supply to the industries under BSEC, especially Pragati Industries Ltd and Atlas Bangladesh Ltd.
The investment team agreed to work on bus, truck, jeep, private car, microbus, ambulance, pick-up, military vehicles and motorcycle manufacturing or assembling in Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Italy and Germany for the purpose of business expansion.
The Chairman of BSEC invited the delegation to visit all the factories under BSEC.
He also said all the technical supports and raw materials that Indonesian companies can provide to BSEC will be informed to the Ministry of Industries and necessary initiatives will be taken to carry out the next activities as soon as possible.
BSEC Director and Joint Secretary Md Monirul Islam, Director (Planning and Development) and Joint Secretary Mr Badrun Nahar, BSEC Secretary Md Nazmul Haque Pradhan and promotion officers were present at the meeting.
