Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) Standing Committee on Women in IT organised a workshop on “Digital Business Identification (DBID)” on Saturday at the BASIS auditorium.
“BASIS has many initiatives underway to encourage women’s participation in IT. Today’s workshop is a manifestation of its continuity,” BASIS Vice-President (Administration) Abu Daud Khan said at the event.
WTO Cell of the Ministry of Commerce Director-3 (Joint Secretary) Farhana Irish gave a detailed presentation about the digital business identification, said a press release issued on Monday.
BASIS Standing Committee on Women in IT Chairman Habib Ullah Tuhin chaired the programme.
The workshop was conducted by Co-Chairman Nishat Mushfiqua meanwhile BASIS Executive Director Abu Issa Mohammad Mainuddin delivered the welcome speech at the workshop. WTO Cell of the Ministry of Commerce (Deputy Secretary) Mohammad Sayed Ali, among others, spoke at the workshop.
The digital business identity will be applicable only for digital commerce establishments and the guidelines are being implemented across the country. A list of type-wise digital commerce organisations is being prepared through this guide; the release added.
Before getting the DBID number, the national identity card of the applicant along with the chairman, director, national identity card of the house owner, trade license, company registration number etc. should be given with the application.
Meanwhile, BASIS expressed its gratitude to the Ministry of Commerce for nominating the relevant senior officials in response to BASIS’s invitation. A significant number of women members of BASIS attended the workshop.
