EEBCCI gets licence

The government has approved a licence to the Eastern European Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EEBCCI) aiming to expand market of Bangladeshi products in the Eastern European countries.

Commerce Ministry has issued the licence under section 3 of the Trade Organization Act-2022, according to a letter signed by deputy secretary of the ministry Tarafdar Sohel Rahman.

EEBCCI has to get registration from the registrar office of Joint Stock Companies and Firms within next 60 days, Tarafdar said.

Besides, the chamber must get a permanent office and its first general meeting should be held within the next three months, the letter mentioned, adding that, it has to form a complete executive committee by the next six months.

At the same time, the chamber will refrain from any activities that go against the government, state and public interests. It will also abide by all the conditions provided by the ministry, otherwise the licence of would be cancelled, Tarafdar said in the letter.

The profit of the chamber can’t be distributed among its members, he added.
