Bankers will be enjoying 24 days of holiday in the year 2023. Among these days, nine days have fallen on Friday and Saturday, the regular holidays.
The Department of Offsite Supervision (DOS) of Bangladesh Bank issued a circular regarding the matter on Sunday.
As per the long tradition, the first day of July and the last day of December will be bank holidays in the next year but the first day of July has fallen on Saturday.
In the same way, among the 24 holidays, nine holidays have fallen on weekends and other government holidays.
National Children’s Day, Bangla New Year’s day, Jumatul Bida, the first two days of Eid-ul-Fitr, the last day of Eid-ul-Adha, the bank holiday of July, Holy Ashura, and Victory Day will be on weekends.
However, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Adha and other Muslim religious holidays will depend on moon sightings.
