The luxury cruise ship MV Bay One is set to commence its journey on the Chattogram-Saint Martin’s route from December 8 with a trip per week.
The seven-storey star cruise ship of the Karnaphuli Cruise Line will depart from Patenga on Thursday at 10 pm and reach St Martin’s Friday morning.
It will stay on the island one night before leaving for Chattogram at 10 am on Saturday. It will arrive at Chattogram in the evening.
Earlier, tourists had to travel to Teknaf from Chatogram by road and then by sea to Saint Martin island. They had to face many hassles on the 282-kilometres-journey.
When the MV Bay One leaves the Karnaphuli River estuary and reaches the sea, the large ships in the distance can be enjoyed if travellers are awake. They can also enjoy the loading/unloading of goods from the anchored ships.
They can sit on a deck chair or sofa and enjoy the music along with the pure sea breeze. And when it’s a full moon night — that will be marvellous… the atmosphere of the journey will spread fascination. Even late at night, passengers won’t be interested in leaving the deck. Also, they can pass their time in the restaurant, coffee shop or ice cream bar at any time during the journey.
On the return journey, travellers will be enjoying the magnificent beauty of the sea in the daylight. The scene of fishermen netting from trawlers in the deep sea will be marvellous. The passengers will enjoy their lunch at their favourite sea-view buffet restaurant.
Centrally air-conditioned, the 400-foot long MV Bay One has all the facilities of a luxury ship – from simple chairs to luxurious cabins, a rooftop buffet with multiple traditional restaurants, ice cream parlours and coffee bars, and brand shops.
There are more than 100 sailors operating the ship and serving the tourists. The 1,800-seat ship with international standard maritime safety has all safety equipment, including life jackets and life buoys, for the safety of its passengers.
