The Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh (ATAB) is going to organise three-day Bangladesh International Travel and Tourism Expo (BITTE) for the first time from December 1.
With the aim of boosting the tourism sector in Bangladesh the tourism fair will be held at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre. The domestic tourism will be highlighted among foreign tourists through this fair.
ATAB President SN Manzur Morshed (Mahbub) revealed this information at a press briefing at the conference room of their Paltan office, in Dhaka on Tuesday.
ATAB President said, "Just as domestic tourism has developed after the Covid-19 pandemic, country tourism will spread in the international arena through this fair."
ATAB Secretary General Abdus Salam Aref said that the fair will be inaugurated by the State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali.
Ministry of Religious Affairs’s State Minister Faridul Haque Khan, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB)’s Chairman Air vice Marshal M Mafidur Rahman and other will be present there.
Secretary General said that the tourism fair will run from 10:00am to 7:00pm from December 1-3, and seminars on three topics will be held for three days.
"Currently, more than 15 countries have confirmed their participation as exhibitors at the fair, including India, Malaysia, Bhutan, Nepal, the Maldives, Oman, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Azerbaijan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, and others," he added.
Salam further said “The purpose of this fair is to contribute to achieve the tourism related SDGs and creating opportunities for foreign investment in the tourism sector. Besides it helps to build relationships between domestic and foreign travel agencies and tour operators and at the same time, attracting foreign tourists.”
The title sponger Air Astra’s General Manager Mozammel Haque said that they will offer discount on their ticket price in fair. The US-Bangla will facilitate the similar offer.
