The Business Post’s Sakhawat Hossain Sumon new DRU finance secretary

The Business Post Senior Reporter Sakhawat Hossain Sumon has been elected as the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) finance secretary in this year’s elections.

Election Commissioner Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul announced the names of elected members on Wednesday at the DRU office at Segunbagicha in the capital.

Mursalin Nomani and Mainul Hasan Sohel were elected as the president and general secretary, respectively.

Dipu Sarwar was elected as vice-president, Moinul Ahsan joint secretary, Saiful Islam organising secretary, Kawsar Azam office secretary, Moriam Moni women affairs secretary, Kamal Uddin Sumon publicity secretary, Tofazzal Hossain Rubel IT secretary, Mahbubul Alam sports secretary, Mizan Chowdhury cultural secretary and Tanvir Ahmed welfare secretary.

Earlier in the day, the polling started at 9am in the Nasrul Hamid Auditorium of DRU, and ended at 5pm.

A total of 1,457 voters participated in the election.
