Tech exports to bring more forex: Dipu Moni

In the coming future, Bangladesh will earn maximum amount of foreign currency with the export of technology, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said.

"Currently, we are earning foreign currency by exporting readymade garments...In the future, we will earn the maximum amount of foreign currency with the export of technology," she said.

Education on science and technology has become indispensable to take the country towards development and prosperity as the world is changing rapidly, the minister said while inaugurating the 10-storied Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose academic building at Jashore University of Science and Technology on Sunday.

Scientists should conduct research on academy-industry relation for the implication of education in the occupations, she added.

Earlier, the minister as the chief guest took part in a view-exchange meeting on innovations held at Sheikh Russel Gymnasium at the university.

With Vice Chancellor of the university Dr Md Anowar Hossain in the chair, the function was addressed, among others, by Register Engineer Md Ahosan Habib, Treasurer Professor Md Abdul Mazid and Lawmaker of Jashore constituency-3 Kazi Nabil Ahmed.

Chairman of Jashore Intermediate and Secondary Education Board Md Ahsan Habib, Principal of Michael Madhusudan Dutt College Morzina Begum, Additional Police Super Md Belal Hossain and Dr Maliha Mannan were also present.
