A month-long training programme on special technological skills, organised by the National Board of Revenue for its IT officials, began in the capital on Monday.
NBR Member (Income Tax, Information Management and Services) Mohammad Zahid Hossain inaugurated the training programme organised to mobilise the revenue collection and strengthen the systems which are being used by the tax administration.
Mango Teleservices Limited, one of the leading telecom service providers in Bangladesh, conducted the training session at its conference room in Gulshan. The project funded by the European Union is running under the strategic planning of Public Financial Management (PMF).
While speaking on the occasion, Zahid Hossain stressed on self-efficiency of the revenue authority to design and operate the innovative and special tax management. How much it was important to fully digitalise the administration of the NBR, he said, adding that NBR has to introduce access opportunities to provide 24/7 services for the taxpayers.
A senior representative of EU said, “We are looking forward to observe how much technological advancement will happen and how much the taxpayers will get services through technological transformation due to training.”
The selected officials will receive training in classical IT and office automation tools. The month-long training programme will cover the systems development, surveillance, security and upgrade of the database.
