The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is set to award nine top companies at the national level for their outstanding contribution in paying the Value Added Tax (VAT) in the fiscal 2020-21.
Besides, another 120 companies will also get the NBR awards at the district level. Every year NBR organises the award ceremony to inspire VAT-payers across the country.
Three companies under production, business and service categories will receive the awards at national and district levels, according to a NBR notification. The notification along with the list of nominated companied was issued on Thursday. The award will be given as per the VAT-payers Award Giving Policy-2005 (amended) at a programme marking the National VAT Day on December 10.
At national level, three companies to be awarded under the production category are Olympic Industries, IBN SINA Pharmaceutical Industry and SMC Enterprise.
Walton Plaza, Agora and Unimart will be awarded under business category while bKash, Nagad and International Finance Investment and Commerce Bank (IFIC) Bank will get the NBR award under service category.
On the other hand, at district level, Edison Industries, HAMKO Corporation and Orion Infrastructure will get the NBR award from Dhaka while Benli Electronics Enterprise Co Ltd, SC Johnson Private and Green Chilli Restaurant will get the award from Gazipur.
Delta Pharma, Mahbub Traders and Laxmi Narayan Mistanno Bhandar will get the award from Kishoreganj while Alpha Auto Bricks and Mahima Bajaj from Jamalpur and Meghna Innova Rubber Co Ltd from Tangail will get the award.
Fair Electronics, Kalachand Das and Heritage Resort from Narsingdi; SKF Pharmaceuticals, Fair Electronics and Radiant Shipyard from Narayanganj; Ayub Ali and Brothers from Mymensingh; Rasel and Bread Confectionary and Alipur Restaurant from Sherpur; and Super Formica and Lamination from Munshiganj will also get the NBR award. The nomination list also includes Fulkoli Food Products, Ifat Associate and Sylhet Cable Systems Private from Sylhet; Suma Food-1, MB Cloth Store, Shaad and Co from Moulvibazar; Akij Plastics, PK Trading and Panshi Restaurant from Sunamganj; Sharif Electronics and Al-Amin Food Fair Hotel and Restaurant from Habiganj; Estern Metal Industries (Ctg), Escorp Apparels, and Jamuna Traders from Chattogram; Saimon Beach Resort from Cox’s Bazar; and Venus Resort and Coffee House from Bandarban.
Maya Bidi Factory, Abifin Motors, Grand Palace Hotel and Resorts from Rangpur; Sunlight Trading and Services, Antor Bajaj and Jhantu Mistanno Bhandar from Kurigram; United Food Care (Bangladesh), Iba Bajaj and SKS Inn from Gaibandha; Green Field Tea Industries, KM Motors and Karatoa Courier Parcel and Service from Thakurgaon; Sumaiya Motors from Dinajpur; Sanita Ceramics Private from Nilphamari; Shakil Motors from Panchagarh; Swadhin Bidi and Safal Bidi Factory and AR Motors from Lalmonirhat will also get the award.
Modern Plywood and Wood Processing Company, Green Enterprise, Suchona Hair and Beauty Care from Kushtia; Kazi Syed Ali and Sharif Furniture of Gopalganj; Banga PVC Pipe Industries, Madani Enterprise and Hotel VIP of Chuadanga; Tushar Ceramics, Faciar Motor-cycle Centre of Jhinaidah; Kaj Trading of Narail; Razzak Food and Beverage, Taj International and Bhagat Ghosh Mistanno Bhandar of Faridpur; Bhai Bhai Plastic, Alamgir Motors and Chalantika Hotel of Magura; Biswash Motors of Meherpur; Panshahi Jarda factory, Shubo Enterprise and Hotel Jabib Paradise of Jashore will also get the award.
Besides, Khorshed Metal Industries, Save and Save of Khulna; Sabiha Chemical Workers of Jhalakathi; Panja Bidi of Patuakhali; Uzzal Chamical Workers of Barguna; MEP Printing and Packaging Industries, New Park Bangla and Nadia Furniture of Barishal; Dubai Bangladesh Cement Mills of Bagerhat; Chan Bidi Factor, Sigma Traders, Hotel Sarbik International of Madaripur; Bajaj Village of Shariatpur; Bajaj Sales Point and Jaihon Dairy Shop in Satkhira are also in the nomination list.
SRN Electronics and Malai Sweets Bakery of Cumilla; Chandpur Limes, H Power Motors, Hotel and Hilsa of Chandpur; Silva Pharmaceuticals and Prime Distribution of Noakhali; PT Consumer Products Industries, Harinarayan Majumdar and Sons and Hotel Nurjahan of Lakshmipur; Agro Products Marketing Co, Mridula Trading Corporation and Package Cable Network of Chapainawabganj; PR Agro Corporation and Hotel Sweet Dream of Joypurhat; Hasan Traders of Naogaon; Brothers Steel, Bismillah Motors and Joykalibari Mistir Dokan of Natore; Pharma Package (Private), Fakir Enterprise and Banalata Sweets and Bakery of Pabna; Jamuna Speacetech Joint Venture and Asia Sweetmeat and Cold Drinks of Bogura; Teem Pharmaceuticals and Sapura Silk Mills of Rajshahi; Kismat Bidi Factory and Sarkar Enterprise of Sirajganj will also get the award.
