The federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industries (FBCCI) is looking at opportunities to increase the export of manpower, as well as readymade garments, textiles, leather, plastic and pharmaceutical to Romania.

“There are opportunities to send more skilled manpower from Bangladesh to Romania if job opportunities with good salaries are ensured,” FBCCI President Jashim Uddin said when Romanian Ambassador to India (non-resident in Bangladesh) Daniela Sezonov Tane paid a courtesy call on him Monday.

“The concerned ministries would assist in this regard. Bangladesh has huge potential in the IT sector along with readymade garments, textile, food processing, pharmaceuticals, ceramics, plastic products, and jute products,” Jashim added.

The FBCCI president also urged the envoy for working to strengthen B2B engagements between Romania and Bangladesh.

“Romania has progressed a lot in the fields of chemical products, machinery, energy, clean energy, and solar power production,” the Romanian ambassador said.

Mentioning that Romania will conduct gas exploration in the sea by 2026, the envoy called upon the business representatives of Bangladesh to visit Romania to strengthen the business relations between the two countries.

FBCCI Vice-President MA Momen, Amin Helaly, Habib Ullah Dawn, Director Prity Chakraborty, and Secretary General Mohammad Mahfuzul Hoque were also present.
