a2i seeks ideas from DCs to create smart districts

The government’s Aspire to Innovate Programme has called for innovative ideas from the deputy commissioners to develop their districts into ‘smart’ ones as part of building Smart Bangladesh.

Under the ‘Smart District Innovation Challenge’, the best innovative ideas will win Tk 1 crore seed fund to plan and implement smart districts, the a2i said in a statement.

The statement also said the DCs can come up with ideas to provide citizen-friendly services with the help of artificial intelligence and big data analytics in different sectors, including education, healthcare, social security, agriculture, manufacturing, services and administration.

Only the DCs are allowed to participate in the competition by submitting ideas by April 25.

The a2i said as one of the critical components of Smart Bangladesh is the Smart District as districts play the most crucial role in the field-level governance of Bangladesh.
