Three-day BTTF to start March 2

The 11th edition of the Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) will be organised by the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) from March 2 to 4 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.

TOAB made the announcement at a press conference at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon hotel on Sunday.

US-Bangla Group will be the title sponsor of the country’s largest tourism fair. The company signed the agreement with TOAB recently.

TOAB has been organising this three-day annual international fair since 2007. Its main objective is to create awareness about and promote tourism and sustainable development.

The fair is supported by the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry, Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, Bangladesh Tourism Board, FBCCI and Bangladesh Tourist Police.

At the press briefing, TOAB Director (trade and fair) Anwar Hossain said overall preparations for the fair are underway and initiatives have been taken to make it much more attractive and magnificent than the previous year.

The fair will have 150 stalls and 16 pavilions in three halls. National tourism organisations and associations, operators and agents of various countries, including Nepal, Maldives, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Japan and Turkey, have already confirmed that they will participate, he said.

Along with them, different international and domestic airlines, hospitals, travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, resorts and cruise liners will participate as exhibitors, he added.

Anwar said they expect tour operators and travel agents from more countries to attend.

TOAB President Shiblul Azam Qureshi said they hope that this year’s fair will create great enthusiasm and excitement among businesses and tourists and all those related to the tourism industry. It will expand the industry and play an important role in the economy.
