A three-day training programme for journalists on civic issues ended in Dhaka on Wednesday with a call to make people aware of the social issues that make lives difficult.
A total of 25 journalists representing various national dailies, TV channels and online news portals attended the workshop held at NGO Forum for Public Health conference room at Lalmatia in Dhaka.
Experts, environmental specialists, human rights activists and media experts conducted the sessions on some key issues that have a huge impact on society. The issues include good governance, environmental pollution, urbanisation and social inclusion of marginalised people and some burning social issues.
Participants of the session were awarded certificates at the concluding event on Wednesday. Sumana Binte Masud, project management specialist of the Democracy, Human Rights and Governance Office of USAID, Bangladesh attended the concluding session and distributed certificates among the participants.
Mainuddin Ahmed, chief of the party of Counterpart International, and Shahiduzzaman, editor and CEO of News Network, also spoke at the concluding session.
