The Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Thursday asked non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) to complete legal procedures in order to replace their company suffix “Limited” with PLC.
Companies in the country currently switch to the PLC (Public Limited Company) suffix as per the 2020 second amendment of the Company Act of 1994.
The BB notice said that the NBFIs will have to change the Memorandum of Association and the Articles of Association in order to assume the PLC suffix.
At present, 35 NBFIs are operating in the country.
In February, the central bank permitted banks to complete legal procedures to add PLC as a suffix.
