A three-day-long Kitchen, Bath and Living Expo Bangladesh 2023 is going to be inaugurated at the International Convention Centre Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka on June 8.
Nasimur Rahman, director of the Marketing Division at Wem Bangladesh Limited, made the discloser at a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) on Tuesday.
Event management company Wem, in collaboration with Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) and Interior Designer’s Association of Bangladesh (IDAB), will organise the expo.
IDAB President Saiful Islam said Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun is scheduled to inaugurate the exhibition. Visitors can visit the expo from 10am to 7pm every day.
“A total of 70 brands from seven countries including the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, United Arab Emirates, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will take part in the exhibition,” Nasimur said.
AkijBashir Group Manager (Marketing) Md Shahriar Zaman said their company has been manufacturing different products including kitchen and bathroom fitting of international standards.
“Around 50 per cent of kitchen and bath fittings are being imported from different countries to fill up local market’s demand. Eighteen local companies are producing such products worth Tk5,000-8,000 crore market of the country every year. Of those, around 200 manufacturers’ of accessories are also engaged in the market worth Tk1300-1500 crore,” he informed.
Around 50 types of products are used in kitchen and bathrooms as fittings, he said adding, “We would like to reduce import dependency. So, we need to let our customers about quality products. We will also arrange seminars on interior design and bathroom fittings in the event,” he added.
