bKash Founder and CEO Kamal Quadir has been selected as a high-impact global finance leader by the Aspen Institute along with 23 others for the non-profit’s Finance Leaders Fellowship.
They have been selected for their impact on the global finance industry, according to a press release issued by the institute on Thursday.
The Aspen Institute is a global organisation committed to establishing a free, just and equitable society. It has named its Finance Leaders Fellows of the class of 2023, which includes Kamal. The fellowship is a global community of finance leaders who are advancing the industry to develop society.
The fellowship is a two-year leadership journey to develop the new generation of business leaders who excel in their work while also promoting value-driven leadership and social impact. The cohort has plans to tackle important issues like the gender gap, the digital divide, the racial wealth gap, affordable housing, and inclusive lending practices, reads the release.
It said, “The 23 leaders of the class of 2023 will be connected with more than a hundred other finance fellows around the world who are committed to building a new generation of the finance industry. This paradigm marshals the industry's global influence to address urgent societal challenges and promote sustainable economic growth.”
Twelve others in the class were selected from the US, two from Canada, three from the UK and one from Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, Romania and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
The fellows, including Kamal, will join a wider community of over 3,500 values-based leaders in over 60 countries as part of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN).
