BKMEA founder director passes away

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) Founder Director Maulana Md Salem has passed away at a private hospital in Dhaka.

The 81-year-old breathed his last at AMZ Hospital around 8:30 am on Monday. The deceased’ s younger brother BKMEA Executive President Mohammad Hatem confirmed the matter. One of the pioneers of the knitwear industry, Salem, was a member of BGMEA. He was also the founder of Navy Hosiery and MS Dyeing Printing and Finishing Limited.

His first Namaz-e-janaza will be held at the central Eidgah ground of Narayanganj at 2 pm. The second Namaz-e-janaza will be held at Dayapur Madrasa grounds in Comilla at 6 pm after Maghrib prayers.
