Eminent security analyst and Arunima Resort Golf Club Committee chairman Maj Gen (retd) Abdur Rashid passed away at the age of 70 on Friday 5:30am (Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un).
He was undergoing treatment at Dhaka’s Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
Rashid’s funeral will be held at the Mirpur DOHS Central Mosque on Friday following Jummah prayers, and he will be buried with due honours at the Army Cemetery.
He remained admitted to the CMH for the last two months. Before that Rashid had gone to Singapore for treatment. After returning home from there, his health deteriorated, and he was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital.
Maj Gen Abdur Rashid, known as a brilliant officer during his service in the army, participated in various talk shows as an outspoken and fearless speaker, and his columns were regularly published in different newspapers.
He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter, and numerous relatives and well-wishers.
