Ms Zakia Amjad, beloved mother of The Business Post Acting Editor Dr Khondaker Showkat Hossain, has passed away [Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un] at the age of 92 years. She breathed her last at around 8am on Wednesday in Dhaka due to old age complications.
Recently released from a hospital, she was taking treatment and staying at Dr Khondaker Showkat Hossain’s residence in the city’s Eskaton Garden area. Zakia Amjad is survived by three sons and a daughter.
Following a namaz-e-janaza after Asr prayers, she was laid to eternal rest at her family graveyard in Kadimdhola village under Mirzapur upazila of Tangail.
The Unique Group, PHP Family, Dainik Amader Shomoy and The Business Post employees, staff and journalists conveyed deep condolences over the untimely demise of Dr Khondaker Showkat Hossain’s mother Zakia Amjad.
