The Awami League has expelled former Gazipur mayor Zahangir Alam again for defying the party decision. But, this time permanently.
Issuing a press release signed by office secretary of the party Biplab Barua on Monday, the ruling party said its central executive committee expelled Zahangir for life as per the party charter.
The expulsion order will come into effect immediately, the release added.
