Awami League on Sunday postponed its peace rally scheduled to be held at the old trade fairground in Agargaon of the capital on Monday.
Proloy Samaddar Bappi, office secretary of Dhaka metropolitan north unit of the party, said they suspended the peace rally but not cancelled it.
He said the date and venue of the peace rally will be announced later.
Proloy, however, said thana-level Awami League leaders and activists have been asked to remain vigilant.
Earlier, the party announced the rally to protest the killing, terrorism and anarchy by the BNP-Jamaat across the country.
