A case was filed on Tuesday against 10 people including a supporter of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and another was arrested over murder of a local BNP leader in Ambarkhana area of Sylhet.
The arrestee was identified as Kuti Mia, fifth accused in the murder case, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Azbahar Ali Sheikh.
The victim’s elder brother Moinul Haque filed the case at 10:30pm on Monday night naming 10 people and unnamed six others including the key accused Azizur Rahman alias Samrat, 35.
Samrat is locally known as BCL supporter although he does not hold any post in the BCL local committee.
AFM Kamal, 44, BNP’s former health secretary of Sylhet unit and son of late Nur Mia of Goraipara in Sylhet city was killed around 8:15pm on Sunday in Ambarkhana area.
