A stage broke down while Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader was delivering his speech at a programme on the Dhaka University campus on Friday.
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, attended the event organised to mark the 75th anniversary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of Awami League.
Witnesses said the stage was crowded with leaders and activists of Chhatra League and collapsed while the Awami League leader was delivering his speech.
After the incident, Quader stood up and completed his speech.
