Facebook to sue facebook.com.bd for compensation

Authorities of social media Facebook will file a lawsuit against facebook.com.bd in the lower court of Bangladesh in the next week seeking compensation of around $50,000.

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Moksadul Islam has been appointed by the Facebook authorities to fight this lawsuit.

Confirming the matter to The Business Post on Thursday, Barrister Moksadul Islam said, “we may also file a case in the High Court. First, we will file a lawsuit in the lower court next Sunday or Monday.”

“Earlier, we sent multiple legal notices to the company asking it to shut down their website, but they still have not closed the website.”

“Facebook authorities already provided us with documents regarding this matter. Now we will move to the court to seek to impose of a ban on the operation of the website,” he added.
