Facebook sues facebook.com.bd for compensation

Authorities of social media Facebook have filed a lawsuit in the lower court in Bangladesh against facebook.com.bd seeking compensation of around $50,000.

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Moksadul Islam confirmed the matter to The Business Post on Sunday.

Barrister Moksadul Islam was appointed by the Facebook authorities to fight this lawsuit.

Facebook authorities claimed that they sent multiple legal notices to the company asking it to shut down their website, but they still have not closed the website.

Later, Barrister Moksadul Islam said Facebook authorities already provided them with documents regarding this matter and they would move to the court to seek to impose of a ban on the operation of the website.

A1 Software Limited, a Bangladeshi company, opened a new domain using the same name as Facebook. Now, they want to sell this domain at $6 million.
