Kim Kardashian's reign as queen of Instagram followers may be facing a challenge. The reality TV star has lost over 500,000 followers since the release of Taylor Swift's new album, "The Tortured Poets Department."

Before the album's release, Kim boasted a staggering 364.3 million followers on Instagram. However, her follower count has since dwindled to 363.8 million. Comments on her recent vacation snapshots with sisters Kourtney and Khloe are dominated by discussions about Taylor Swift's song.

The genesis of this renewed feud dates back to 2009 when Kim's ex-husband, Kanye West, infamously interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the VMAs, igniting a longstanding rift between the two.

The feud escalated with Kanye's 2016 track "Famous," containing controversial lyrics about Taylor, and Kim's subsequent defence of Kanye on keeping up with the Kardashians, where she released snippets of a phone conversation with Taylor purportedly granting permission for the song's lyrics.

However, further leaked footage revealed discrepancies in the narrative, casting doubt on Taylor's consent. Taylor's 2017 album, Reputation, addressed these events, with several songs referencing the feud.

Fans believe a song titled "thanK you aIMee" is a direct jab at Kardashian, with some speculating the capitalised letters "K," "I," and "M" intentionally spell out her name. The lyrics also contain references to a "bronze, spray-tanned statue" that once "threatened to push me down the stairs at school," aligning with past comments about Kardashian's appearance.

Swift's new 31-song album reportedly references other celebrities as well, but Kardashian seems to be bearing the brunt of fan outrage on social media. Kardashian's recent Instagram posts are flooded with comments referencing "thanK you aIMee."
