Gias Uddin Selim's historical drama film "Kajol Rekha" has achieved a remarkable feat in its third week. Not only are audiences flocking to theatres, but the film has also been incorporated into the curriculum for master's students in the Department of History at Dhaka University.

This news was confirmed by the film's makers on Saturday, sparking joy and pride for director Selim.

"This is excellent news for 'Kajol Rekha' and a source of great joy," he stated according to Dailystar. "The inclusion will bring the film closer to the audience," Selim remarked, highlighting the significance of a major university recognising the film's value.

Selim, known for his acclaimed film "Monpura," emphasises the film's connection to Bengali heritage. "'Kajol Rekha' is our story," he said. "It represents the tale of Bengal, resonating from 400 years ago to today."

With screenings currently on going at Sylhet's Grand Sultan Hall and expanding to Mymensingh next week, the future looks bright for "Kajol Rekha." Selim expressed optimism, stating, "If everything goes well, the film will be released in more halls starting from the fourth week."
