Amid the intense heat in different parts of the country, Chuadanga experienced a temperature of 43.0 degrees Celsius on Monday, the highest in 10 years.

Jaminur Rahman, in charge of the Chuadanga Weather Observatory Centre, said they recorded a 43-degree Celsius temperature at 3 pm in Chuadanga, and it may rise after evening, reports UNB.

This is the highest temperature recorded in the district in the past ten years, he said.

On May 21, 2014, Chuadanga recorded 43.2 degrees Celsius temperature.

Since the middle of April, Chuadanga has been experiencing extreme heat weather, which has hampered people's regular activities.

"However, there is no possibility of rainfall in the next two days in the district and the temperature may rise or remain unchanged," he said.

According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, "Very severe heat wave is sweeping in Jashore and Rajshahi districts and severe heat wave is prevailing in parts of Khulna division, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Naogaon, Pabna and Nilphamari districts. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping in Barishal division, parts of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and Bandarban districts."

Due to the increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may persist, it said.

The country's hottest temperature was 42.2 degrees Celsius in the Jashore district on Sunday, and 18 mm of rain was recorded in Sunamganj until 6 am on Monday.
