Embassy of Japan and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy will jointly organise “Shodo Workshop - The Art of Japanese Calligraphy” at National Art Gallery number 3 of Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka on May 18.
The calligraphy workshop will be conducted by Japanese calligraphy artist Satoko Azuma. She will give a lecture on the philosophy of Japanese calligraphy and demonstrate calligraphy with a giant brush.
Then, special guests will try out calligraphy and other participants will have the opportunity to experience Japanese calligraphy with the instruction of Azuma.
The produced works will be displayed on the wall of the gallery and the calligraphy exhibition will remain open till May 25 at the same venue.
