EEICT int’l conference 2024 kicks off Thursday

The 6th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information & Communication Technology (EEICT) has begun at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) in the city’s Mirpur Cantonment.

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed attended the inauguration ceremony on Thursday as the chief guest, reads a press release. Commandant of MIST Maj Gen Mohammed Saidul Islam was present on the occasion as chief patron.

IEEE President and the Founding Director of the Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech, USA Prof Saifur Rahman and Chair of IEEE Bangladesh Section Prof Dr M Moshiul Hoque were present at the inaugural ceremony as special guests.

Renowned researchers and professionals from both academia and industry from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, China, United Arab Emirates and India, along with Bangladesh, are participating in this three-day conference to share up-to-date knowledge and experience in the fields of electrical, electronic engineering and information and communication technology (ICT).

The conference aims to focus on recent research, article presentations and discussions on demanding tracks including artificial intelligence, biomedical engineering, computer network & security, communication technologies, digital signal & image processing, optoelectronics & photonics, power electronics & drives, power system & renewable energy.

Moreover, semi-conductor devices & nanotechnology, software engineering, VLSI & circuits, microwave engineering, radar engineering and satellite navigation will also be discussed by researchers to share their experience among themselves.

This conference aims to build a forum of researchers, entrepreneurs, engineers and students from all over the world which will open a door for innovations and sustainable developments in electrical, electronic engineering and ICT for shaping smart Bangladesh.

The closing ceremony will take place on Saturday. State Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak will grace that ceremony as the chief guest.
