Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman, the founder chairman of PHP Family, said hard work is the only trick to achieve success in life, and work carried out with honesty and integrity is certain to bring success by the grace of Allah.

He added that key success can be achieved with an iron will to overcome all life's obstacles, and hard work is the main requirement for getting ahead in life.

Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman made the remarks while addressing a programme at Dr Kaisar Rahman Chowdhury Auditorium in the Rajshahi Medical College on Friday.

Trustee Board member of University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) and Managing Director of PHP Float Glass Industries Ltd Mohammed Amir Hossain, and Bangladesh Sufi Foundation General Secretary Professor Ruhul Amin Pramanik also spoke as special guests.

The programme was organised as a reception to the meritorious students of Creative Education Family, and for handing over The Makhdum Foundation scholarships.

Addressing students at the event, Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman said, “Students should be working hard in all sectors, from education, knowledge acquisition to employment or business.

“For example, most of the people who became famous in the world for different reasons were children coming from poor families. But they had a dream to go big in life. They ignored poverty and worked hard with honesty.”

Pointing out the necessity of dreaming, he pointed out that without a dream there can never be any success in life.

Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman then said, “Those who are in need and have dreams of becoming someone big, must have passion, suffering, and haste in their hearts. The drive to go big must be maintained. Then whatever obstacles may come in life, can be overcome.”

Discussing the reality, he said, “Most people in our society never work more than necessary. They only perform their duties within office hours. As they only work to get paid. I must insist that work must be owned, and additional hours must be given.”

Sharing the example of how he became an industrialist, Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman said, “I started out with a job paying only Tk 100. But I never thought little of work my entire life. I always worked two-three times what my duty required. I owned my work.

“I dreamt of becoming a big success, and I achieved my goal with hard work. We must remember that it is futile to dream of success without hard work.”

Directing students to be careful about time, he said, “We must not try to achieve anything by wasting time. Work must be done on time. We cannot achieve success by skipping work. The greatest work in life is to value time. Time can never be neglected.

“Everyone has amazing talent hidden inside, and all that is needed now is to shine. There is no substitute for honesty, dedication and hard work.”

Creative Education Family Adviser Afzal Hossain and The Makhdum Foundation Founder and President Sufi Dr Md Surayet Rahman Raktim were present at the event among others.

After the speech, Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman handed over gifts and scholarships to meritorious students.
