A meeting of the officers and leaders of the National Association of Realtors (NAR) has been held with the Center for NRB.

Bangladeshi-American realtors Samim Ahmed, Safiqul Islam and Nadir Khan participated in this meeting led by NRB Chairperson MS Shekil Chowdhury in Washington, USA, Global Ambassador Yoshi Takita, Global Coordinator Mark Kitabayashi, Global Service Manager Karen M Williams, and Global Director Alex Escudero Rodriguez participated in the meeting on behalf of NAR.

In the meeting, NRB Chairperson MS Shekil Chowdhury urged investors from America and 77 nations to form investment partnerships with Bangladeshi businessmen under the leadership of NAR in order to increase global commercial relations and investment.

He said, “Bangladesh has liberal investment policies with potential for profitable investment so that businesses on both sides can benefit. Shekil Chowdhury said, Americans can play an important role in this investment and participate in the investment.

“Under the recently adopted policy of Bangladesh, investors can bring back the principal and dividends tax-free in foreign currency to their country.”

In the meeting, NAR officials and leaders emphasised on the establishment of partnership of business organizations of the respective sectors.

They said, the world's largest trade organization, National Association of Realtors, NAR has a current membership of more than 15 lakhs and partnerships with 77 countries. They said that partnership with Bangladesh will make America and related 77 nations confident to invest in Bangladesh.

However, they said, this partnership has to be done under very strict principles and "code of ethics."

The leaders said, we hope that the businessmen engaged in the housing and accommodation business of Bangladesh and their business organizations will be able to follow these principles.

The Bangladeshi-American businessmen who participated in the meeting assured full support in communication in this regard. A memento was awarded to NAR by NRB Center in the meeting.

During the National Conference of NAR, this pre-arranged meeting was held at Marriott Marquis Hotel in Washington on May 6 in a very cordial atmosphere.

NRB Chairperson Shekil Chowdhury attended the NAR Conference and various seminars held from May 4 to 9 as an invited guest and were informed about the activities of NAR.
