The country’s first-ever inter-university squash tournament kicked off on Friday with eight universities participating in the tournament at the Army Officers' Mess A in Dhaka.

The month-long tournament was organised jointly by the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation (BSRF) and the University Squash Community of Bangladesh (USCB). Thirty players (18 boys and 12 girls) from eight renowned universities across the country have registered in the tournament.

As part of Vision 2026, the Bangladesh Squash Rackets Federation has taken a programme to connect all squash players, create opportunities for them to play squash and strengthen the squash community in the country to grow and promote the game in Bangladesh.

The tournament is a part of the programme to encourage the growing number of squash players as it will provide them a platform to put their talents on the show. BSRF will monitor the players and will keep them connected to the federation to grow and strengthen the squash fraternity in Bangladesh.

The closing ceremony and prize distribution will take place on Saturday at the same venue.
