LGD secy pays tributes to Bangabandhu at Tungipara

Newly appointed secretary of the Local Government Division (LGD) of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Abu Hena Morshed Zaman on Monday paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

After laying the wreath, the secretary stood in solemn silence for some time there as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.

Later, he offered prayers seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs, who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.

A special prayer was also offered wishing for a long life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members, reports BSS.

The secretary also signed the visitors' book kept at the administrative building of Tungipara Mausoleum Complex.

Chief Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED)  Ali Akhtar Hossain, Chief Engineer of Directorate of Public Health Engineering Tushar Mohan Sadhu Khan, Director General of Local Government Department Dr Md Sarwar Bari, it's Joint Secretary Mohammad Tanvir Azam Siddiquee, Deputy Director of Local Government Department of Deputy Commissioner's Office Md Azharul Islam, LGED Gopalganj District Executive Engineer Md Ehsanul Haque, DPHE of Gopalganj District Executive Engineer Md Faiz Ahmed, Gopalganj District Awami League President Mahbub Ali Khan, Tungipara Upazila Awami League General Secretary and Upazila Chairman Md Babul Sheikh and Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO)  Md Moinul Haque, among others, were present.
