Bangladesh’s Remittance inflow reached $2.542 billion in June, contributing to a total of $23.915 billion for the concluding FY24. This figure marks a significant year-on-year increase of 11.89 per cent compared to the $21.61 billion recorded in FY23.

Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Mezbaul Haque confirmed the matter on Monday.

The growth in remittance highlights the resilience and continued support of Bangladeshi diaspora amidst global economic uncertainties. This boost is expected to bolster the country’s foreign exchange reserves, and support economic stability, particularly in sectors reliant on foreign earnings.

This positive trend underscores the vital role of remittances in Bangladesh’s economy, contributing significantly to household incomes and overall financial health.
