Bangabandhu Corner was formally launched at the newly built headquarters of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) to give an in-depth idea about the life, works and sacrifice of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to its people and others concerned.

The corner is enriched with Bangabandhu's portrait, the historic speech of 7th March, photographs of all life and more than 200 books on the life and works of Bangabandhu, reports BSS.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun inaugurated the corner by cutting a ribbon on Monday evening as the chief guest.

RMP Commissioner Biplob Bijoy Talukder, Deputy Inspector General of Police of RajshahiRange Anisur Rahman and other police officials were present on the occasion.

The IGP urged the people to know the life and works of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to get nation-building inspiration in life.

He said all patriotic people must follow the ideals of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They should also listen to the speeches of Bangabandhu minutely.

"Apart from a few anti-liberation thugs, the whole nation under the leadership of Bangabandhu fought and brought independence to the country and that's why the Bangalee nation embraced him as their closest one, affectionately decorating him with the honour of Bangabandhu," Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said.

Recalling the greatest contribution of Bangabandhu to the independence of Bangladesh, he observed that the name of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman could not be deleted from the people's minds until Bangladesh existed.

He praised the RMP for its laudable contribution to establishing the Bangabandhu corner.
