Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Habibur Rahman on Tuesday said that if a victim comes from a district outside Dhaka and seeks service from the Women's Support and Investigation Division (WSID), then she will also be given service.

He also asked the WSID to open a Research centre to prevent violence against women as well as to work in coordination with cyber units, NGOs and police stations.

After the discussion, the DMP Commissioner distributed gifts among working women under the initiative of the Women Support and Investigation Division.

It started its Journey as a Victim Support Center on 17th February 2009 with the support of the Police Reform Programme and the collaboration of ten partner NGOs.
