Testimony against Arav Khan in Mamun murder case July 21

A court Wednesday fixed July 21 for taking testimony in the case against eight people, including Rabiul Islam alias Arav Khan, in police inspector Mamun murder case.

In the court of First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Faisal Atiq Bin Quader, lawyer of the defendants' questioned the investigative officer of the case DB Inspector Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman on Wednesday, reports BSS.

After concluding the hearing, the court fixed July 21 for taking the next testimony in the case.

Out of the 38 witnesses, 24 have completed their testimony.

Apart from Rabiul Islam AKA Arav Khan, the other accused in the case are Suraiya Akhtar Keya, Rahmat Ullah, Swapan Sarkar, Mizan Sheikh, Atik Hasan, Sarwar Hasan and Didar Pathan.

Among them, Rabiul Islam and Suraiya Akhter Kaya are absconding. The remaining six accused were taken before the court Wednesday.

On July 9, 2018, the body of Inspector Mamun Imran Khan was recovered from a forest in Gazipur.

Later, Mamun's brother Jahangir Alam Khan filed a murder case in Banani Police Station of the capital as the plaintiff.

The investigative officer of the case Inspector Sheikh Mahbubur Rahman of the DB Police pressed charge sheet against them on April 8, 2019.

On November 25, 2021, the court framed charges against the accused.
