3 dead from falling in septic tank in Rangpur

3 people including a mother and son died after falling in a septic tank in Udaipur village under Mithapukur upazila in Rangpur on Thursday morning.

The victims are identified as Delwara Begum (55), her son Ida Mia (35) and Ibnul Mia (35), son of Neighbour Tobarok Hossain.

According to locals, the incident happened after Delwara fell into the septic tank while collecting Taro leaves near it. Her son Ida and neighbour's son Ibnul fell trying to save her. Two units of fire-fighters came to recover their bodies.

Co-Assistant Director of Rangpur Fire Service Badsha Masood said that the bodies have been recovered and handed over to their families.

Officer-in-Charge Ferdous Wahid said the deceased came to their demise at 6am after falling in their septic tank at Udaipur village. The Fire Service came to recover their bodies after receiving the news.
