Hemayet returns home with foreign fund for child dev

Hemayet Hossain, the founder of Central Kochi Konther Asar, is going to start various schemes for children in Bangladesh with foreign funds after returning to his homeland.

He has returned after thirty six years while the Central Kochi Konther Asar has been conducting various programmes on education, health and entertainment for children in Bangladesh and USA since 1976.

On the occasion of the return of the founder of the Central Kachi Konther Asar, prominent children's organiser and expatriate to America after a long period of almost thirty six years, a meeting was recently held with all the members, patrons and well-wishers of the organisation at Cityscape International Hall of Gulshan.

Tasnubha Mohana presented the event while president of the event, former secretary Shafiq Alam Mehdi delivered a welcome speech. They also introduced a new executive committee consisting of 25 members.

Some former presidents of the organisation were remembered on this day who are Khondkar Shahadat Hossain, then general manager of Ittefaq Group and Editor of Weekly Purbani, renowned journalist and writer Sanaullah Noori, prominent intellectual, writer and former minister Dr Mizanur Rahman Shelley, former VC of the National University educationist Dr Aminul Islam and others.

Besides imbibing the illustrious history, present and future plans of Central Kochi Konther Asar and Kochi Konther Asar-USA and Kochi Konth Foundation, Hemayet Hussain was felicitated with flowers.

The president of the organisation gave Hemayet Hossain a crest as a token of respect for his unique contribution.

Hossain, a famous children's organiser living in the United States, said in his speech that depending on the donations received from abroad, he will build education, health, quality of life and classrooms for the children of this country.

“This work will start from next year. They will give a digital presentation of the work they have done so far in front of the Prime Minister. So he requested everyone's cooperation in this event,” he said.

In addition to the secretary general of the organization Qayyum Khan, former Justice AKM Abdul Hakim, Member of Parliament of Feni-3 Constituency Lt. Gen. (retd) Masud Uddin Chowdhury, humanitarian prominent social worker Reba Rahman, prominent organizer of the organization Farida Hena, were present as special guests in the event.

Former secretary and chairman of BTRC Syed Margub Morshed, former captain of Bangladesh National Football Team Kaiser Hameed, music artist Ferdous Wahid, Maqsudul Haque, model actor Monir Khan Shimul, dance director Ratan and Sohail Rahman and others also joined the programme.

At the end of the programme, various eminent persons associated with Central Kochi Konther Asar participated in an open discussion.
